[Morgan pumps their fist in excitement at the affirmation of swooping.
They open the container and start taking the incredible looking, and smelling, meal out before noticing the gesture. Any attempt at seriousness has long left the conversation so they simply grin and nod sagely before walking over and imitating his pose. Imitation, to a reasonable degree, is the best form of flattery is it not? At least that's how Morgan views it.]
[ Yamada appreciates the symmetrical memeing. After a moment, some of his hair winds around itself and extends, forming a simple hand on a lengthy tendril. It's his way of creating a selfie-stick whenever he needs it, taking his phone to snap a shot of them both posing either side of the moth butt picture.
The hand has sent it to Morgan before it returns to him, sliding the phone back into his pocket. The pocket is also part of him. You try finding pants that can fit a guy, a gorilla, a pterodactyl and survive lava sometime. Much easier just to be naked and fake clothing. ]
Right. Now I'm hungry. I just flew in and boy are my arms tired.
[ He dusts off his hands at a job well done, deadpan as ever, at their goofing and has no shame at his awful joke. ]
[After seeing your friend transform from a Mothman into a recognizable shape, one would think that a hair-tendril-hand thing wouldn't be what sets one over the edge. But it does, and after struggling for what seems like an eternity for Yamada to take the picture, they start laughing so hard they end up in a coughing fit, ass planted to the ground.
Dignity long gone they nod along with his statement, they too, were famished.]
Yes please, let's eat.
[They take a moment to decide on if they should reach a hand for help with getting up, but instead they just crawl over to and up onto the balcony sofa.]
[ Yamada just appreciated his abilities being appreciated. His hair arm doesn't entirely disappear, it became a simple braid that he slings over the front of him to not get in the way as he dropped into the sofa too. The food is wrapped in paper, enough to keep it hot and letting the delicious smell out.
But more so when he unfolded it, and he took the time to take a deep breath, inhaling the scent of his handiwork. ]
Mmm. This is the best I've managed this week, I think.
[Morgan doesn't wait to take in the smell before digging in, clearly famished. The only sounds being sounds of affirmation, this IS a great burger. Nor do they particularly care for any table manners, ripping into the potato and biting out chunks at a time. It's barely a moment when they stop for a breath that they speak again.]
[ Yamada watches them out of his eye as Morgan goes HAM(burger) on the meal. It brings him a delight he doesn't show, calmly eating in a leisurely manner. Savouring every bite. ]
I did. [ His relaxed voice only has a hint of pride, but he follows up with- ] Did you eat at all today?
[They resolve to answer by shoveling more of the incredible food into their mouth. One burger down they completely devour the remainder of a potato, and then another. Stopping only really to drink.]
[Sighing after having a drink, they put down potato that was the next target for devouring.]
Listen I've been insanely busy all day. But fine, I'll savor it properly.
[And they do, it's still faster than what may be considered polite. But at least they doesn't look like a starved animal having come upon their first meal in weeks.]
[ Each word comes with a poke to the forehead. Yamada’s childhood experience of suddenly finding a thriving city turned into a survival trial had deeply ingrained the importance of eating well into his mind. ]
[Morgan looks stumped at the question, not because they don't have an answer, they do, it's just difficult to properly formulate. So they look out into space for a couple minutes. They hold up a finger to indicate that they're thinking and that he should give them some time.]
So, effectively. My powers flared up a lot today, that kinda froze over everything in my room and I couldn't get the powers to stop so despite my best efforts it kept being frozen and then since they just kept going my blood started freezing and the ice shards started poking out through my skin. [They show off their fingers which have been bandaged but with many small spots of dried blood on it.]
Same happened to my legs and so I was kind of stuck there not going anywhere. Plus my door froze over, you try unfreezing the hinges of a door when your powers aren't working as they should, also you have frozen blood shards poking through your skin.
[Morgan grabs a potato and starts eating it.]
Not really sure why it started acting up, though I did have a horrible day yesterday, maybe that's related. Only really got it to stop about an hour before you texted, because someone sent me a video of a cute cat that snored very loudly.
[ Morgan is talking to someone who can relate, that's for sure. He's gotten into the habit of using his powers as sillily as possible to help people not realise just how dangerous they can be. And they're often effected by emotions, or his perceptions, and all sorts of factors a human mind isn't meant to keep track of the way he has to.
He nods along, listening more intently than his expression implies. He's spent a long time deliberately not caring, but since becoming the big sibling figure to a little girl, he's finding it hard not to make every problem he comes across his problem, which is truer to his nature. ]
Hmm. Yeah, doesn't sound great. [ This is Yamada's understated way of saying 'aww shit, sorry that happened.' Yamada chews thoughtfully, eyes closed, his first burger finally disappearing. ] Well, if a cat video is all it takes, next time it starts up let me know. I can manage a cold-resistant cuddly critter in a heartbeat.
[ Of course, getting frozen is one of his weaknesses but he chooses not to say so. It's unlikely to kill him, but it's hard to unfreeze himself. Somewhere out there, right now, there's a team being put together to capture him and there's a freezy guy in there. ]
[They chuckle at the offer, giving him a genuine smile. That was more than anyone had offered to do to help in a long time.]
Will do, good luck breaking down the doors though. The ice can get pretty thick. Though, if you can mothman yourself I suppose something strong enough to break it down isn't impossible for you.
[If he did then Morgan could tell him that they're perfectly able to affect and remove any ice around them. Especially if created by them.]

You've gotta eat properly. Otherwise you're not going to properly appreciate my hard work.

I'm usually better at it, today was an outlier, but will do.

What kind of day stops you from eating?
